The Braves made Major headlines this off-season, when they inked the Upton brothers to join right fielder Jason Heyward in one of the greatest young outfields ever assembled. So far Justin Upton has exploded with 14 homers (he had 17 all of last season). B.J. Upton has struggled, hitting just .140. Heyward who has already made a trip to the DL is also struggling with a .145 batting average. The Braves are still very much in their divisional race.

Rookie catcher/outfielder Evan Gattis has shown a lot of promise by bashing seven homers.

Atlanta enters this series with a damaged bullpen having just put Jordan Walden and Eric O’Flaherty on the DL (they are also without Johnny Venters who is having his second Tommy John Surgery). Closer Craig Kimbrel has shown signs mortality but he has already recorded 12 saves and struck out 23 batters in 15.1 innings.
